Canon EOS Rebel SL2 Features

Canon EOS Rebel SL2

At its core are the new 24.2MP sensor and the cutting-edge DIGIC 7 image processor, which increases the maximum sensitivity to ISO 51,200 in extended mode and boosts burst capture from 4fps to 5fps, although video recording is still available in Full HD The maximum is reached at 1080p. It has built-in Wi-Fi, NFC, and Bluetooth, and novice photographers with digital SLR cameras will appreciate Canon’s guided shooting mode. It is so user-friendly, we not only consider it the best Canon camera for beginners, but we also include it in our guide to the best children's camera.

One of the most obvious new features of the 200D is its articulated screen, but this technology adds volume, so it is not surprising that the 200D is slightly larger than its predecessor and weighs 46 grams. Although compared to ergonomics, it is still more compact than Canon's other new entry-level beginner camera 800D. If your feet are too large, the 200D's grip is relatively narrow and there is not enough space to support your thumb.

However, your thumb is in the ideal position to operate the redesigned power switch, and the responsive touch screen controls help compensate for the relatively poor rear direction keys. The display itself is also interesting, with excellent viewing angles, brightness, and color accuracy.

Canon EOS Rebel SL2 Performance

Canon’s new 18-55mm STM kit lens combines Canon’s Dual Pixel AF and stepper motor to achieve near-instantaneous focus under good light. In semi-dark conditions, it only takes half a second to pause and it won’t appear. Focus on the problem. In Live View, the focusing speed is also very fast, and the STM kit lens can provide a silent focus transition during video capture, although there is approximately a two-second delay in refocusing between the near focus and the far focus.

Unfortunately, in regular viewfinder shooting, only 9 phase-detection AF points cover a limited frame area, it is difficult to lock a specific point on the composition, although if you switch to real-time display, you will get 49 contrast detection pairs focus.

Since there are only 9 focus points, it is difficult to ensure that the highest point of the flower is in focus.

Interesting color reproduction and accurate exposure metering help bring this photo to life.

Captured at ISO 1600, there is almost no sign of image degradation, and the dynamic range is good.

In "Live View" mode, 49 AF points can cover a wider area, making it easier to focus on off-center subjects.

Canon's 24.2MP sensor can produce fascinating images with good color and dynamic range at lower sensitivity. However, if you exceed ISO 3200, the highlights are easy to burn off, but the noise is well controlled. Images taken at ISO 12800 are very useful, allowing you to accept some loss of detail. The 18-55mm IS STM kit lens also shows excellent performance, which can be sharp and clear in all corners of the frame, and the 200D's built-in lens aberration correction function can successfully eliminate streaks in JPEG images.

Our opinion on Canon EOS Rebel SL2

The amazing compactness of 100D ensures its unique advantages. The 200D is only slightly larger, but unfortunately, it cannot make it close to the size of competing cameras, thereby reducing any novelty. Fortunately, the 200D is also a powerful all-round entry-level digital SLR camera, easy to use, powerful and outstanding.

Definitely more attractive than Canon's cheaper EOS 1300D, especially when paired with Canon's excellent IS STM kit lens. However, the price of the EOS 200D is almost twice that of the 1300D IS II kit. Canon has many old and new cameras on the market at the same time. The EOS 200D is also more expensive than the EOS 750D with an 18-55mm IS STM lens. It is more complete than the 200D camera and is still widely available.
